I’ve lived with eczema since childhood, and no one ever truly knew how to help. I suffered deeply from constant inflammation and discomfort, and for many years, I felt powerless inside a body that seemed to fight against me. When I later came off the pill — after being on it throughout my entire teenage life — everything intensified and my eczema returned with full force.
From the age of ten, I also struggled with severe menstrual pain and symptoms that were eventually linked to Adenomyosis — a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. It can cause debilitating cramps, heavy bleeding, chronic fatigue, and a profound sense of imbalance. For years, no doctor could offer real relief or answers. The only solution I was given was: “Take the pill.”, which felt like being asked to mute my body instead of understanding it.
Coming off hormonal contraception 10 years ago was one of the hardest transitions of my life. I felt alone, overwhelmed, and disconnected from myself, yet, in the long term, it became a turning point. It was the beginning of finally coming home to my own body, intuition, and truth.
Slowly, I learned to listen again. To understand what my body was asking for. To trust its signals rather than fear them.
For nearly ten years, I have been researching hormonal health, cyclical living, skin physiology, and the deep interconnection between our skin, hormones, nervous system, and emotional health. This path led me to formal herbalism studies at the Swiss herbalist school “Empowerment for Life”, where I received my diploma and deepened both my scientific understanding and my lived relationship with plants.
I’m Lea Sophie, a certified herbalist and founder of iuna, Cycle Mentor and Educator for children, born in Germany, raised in Switzerland and based around the world.
My work is rooted in the belief that true healing begins when we reconnect with the natural world. Through plants, ritual, science, and intuition, I guide people back to a sense of balance, clarity, and inner strength.

My Path into Herbalism & Cycle Health began with my own body.
My personal struggle became a lifelong Study, And ultimately my purpose
Writing my diploma thesis for my herbalism studies on cyclical skincare brought another essential insight:
True healing means caring for the whole of who we are. Long-lasting transformation comes when we also nurture the body, the mind and our emotions and recognize that all is connected.
From this understanding, my purpose became not only to live this work myself, but to pass it on. To translate this knowledge into practical, embodied wisdom through workshops, circles and education and to also share it with children, our future, by introducing them to the magical nature and healing powers of wild herbs. By fostering curiosity, respect and connection to the living world from an early age, I hope to plant seeds of trust in nature, in the body and in one’s own inner wisdom.
Especially with the local wild herbs that grow around us, carrying the stories, resilience, and wisdom of our ancestors and the landscapes we come from. These plants support us on a physical level through their healing properties, their rich chemistry, and their secondary plant compounds that work with us on a cellular level.
But they also support us on an energetic level. We human beings are woven into both the microcosm and macrocosm of our world. The plants growing beside us are part of our ecological, emotional, and spiritual lineage, and when we reconnect with them, we reconnect with ourselves.
This is also how I learned to truly partner with plant allies.
